This painting came from the Week of Two Canvases in which I painted a very large canvas from one position in the morning, and then turned around to paint this in the afternoon (the other is pictured in this group). Old City Quebec is a beautiful place. This river was intriguing, the boardwalk fence separating me from it even more so.
