A Cappadocian potter works deep in the cool, damp caves of central Turkey, creating beautiful vessels and sculpture that dry slowly in the cavern air. This way, the creation s are not weakened by the quick shrinkage a fast drying would bring about. A potter can only work underground for so long; the air will bring on rheumatism after a while.
