My mother has always wanted to live on the water. Although she would prefer owning a house with a river view to actually living IN the water, some people do live on their boats. It’s kind of a chic thing. You do it if you’re very stylish, or a forensic pathologist, maybe. It could be that you love being on the water. Well, in this country those would be the reasons. In some other countries, like the Netherlands, you live on a houseboat because… well, you just do. This houseboat is anchored in an Amsterdam canal. Dutch houseboats are connected to the mainland electricity supply and are everyday houses… slightly wobbly, but you get used to it, I suppose.
