Hallstatt is a tiny jewel of an Austrian town nestled beside a lake and in the shadow of an enormous mountain. You cam walk through it in about ten minutes: you’d never know it was once an extremely important trading center and salt-mining capital of Europe. That, however, was several centuries ago. Now Hallstatt is just a really wonderful place to be.
