This is more than a nice picture. This painting symbolizes the Outer Hebrides to me. This is an official bus depot where buses rest before making their rounds of however much land they can cover before it ends at the next ferry slipway. The buses travel the road circling the island they are assigned to. They transport friendly, open residents and busy strangers lost in thought. They stop in the villages and by the slipways; their drivers know everyone, avoid the sheep, and sometimes even relate their life stories to waterproof, backpack-laden Americans
