Everyone has moments in life they’ll always remember; brief flashes of time that are so magical they occupy their own mental scrapbooks. This painting represents one of mine. The time in the air wasn’t special: 45 minutes in a small prop plane over water and jagged coastline made me too nervous to appreciate being aloft. The landing, however: that was specialWhen we did touch down and coast to a stop, there was the normal bump-and-shudder, but no runway screech. Landing on the beach is not something you forget.
